SOWSL History

SOWSL has been running as a league for 14 seasons now, with a few seasons of indoor 7-a-side. The league began with a group of women from Penticton who were traveling the Okanagan and competing in the Okanagan wide women's league. From there, four teams were defined into a league in Penticton, known as South Okanagan Women's Soccer League. The league since the beginning has grown to 9 teams and includes players from Osoyoos to Summerland. The long term sights of the executive were to have a league that included games in Summerland and Oliver to really expand and include the entire South Okanagan.

 Mission Statement:

The South Okanagan Women’s Soccer league encourages an environment for women 16 years and over of varying skill levels to participate and enjoy a social environment where they can play soccer. This is a time for women to socialize and be supported by friends and peers to develop existing skills or learn something new.
